Saint Elisabeth Church

It's a magnificent gothic church funded by Bolesław the 3rd in the 13th century. It was the major church in Wrocław. Since then it supposed to show the glory of the city and its authorities. In the 15th century, a new 134 meters high tower was build and it made the St Elizabeth Church one of the tallest buildings in the world. Unfortunately, the wooden top of the tower collapsed in 1529. Despite all the damage, Wrocław took during World War 2, church remained in perfect condition. Sadly in 1976, the church was burnt down completely. In front of the building, there is a square where used to be a cemetery surrounded by small houses of priests. Now the church is rebuilt and with magnificent stained glass, you can enjoy its view.
