Japanese Garden

Japanese garden that is near the pergola was founded in 1909-1912 and was presented on a Garden show in reference to Century Show in 1913. Count Fritz von Hochberg initiated its construction, the design was made by Japanese gardener-artist Mankichi Arai.

Unfortunately, after the show, most of the Japanese style elements were taken away. In years 1996-1997 with Japanese Embassy cooperation and with gardeners from Poland and Japan, they worked to restore the garden’s Japanese unique character. The garden is unique in Europe example of Japanese culture and small architecture. There are over 100 species of plants from the Far East, waterfalls, pathways, bridges, and wooden benches. This is one of the most favorite places for couples in love.
